C-Suite in Our Escape Room!

This photo is from one of my favorite moments at Teamwork Unlocked, our very first C-suite group to ever come through the escape room, from Global Dairy Trade

It was a small group, consisting of just four of them. Three from New Zealand, one coming in from Germany. Their fifth teammate had a last-minute family emergency, which instantly threw our setup off (our game is not designed for groups of four), but we made it work. Tom and I even jumped in as “deckhands” at points to keep the flow going. Very glamorous.

Here’s the wild part…They found us through ChatGPT.

Lloyd Cartwright, their CEO, who had just stepped into his role a few months earlier, told his admin to “find something interesting for the C-suite to do in Singapore.” She typed something into ChatGPT, and our name popped up; the next day, I was on a call with him. Thirty minutes later, he said, “Yep, let’s do it.”

They attended a conference in Singapore, then joined our workshop on the last day, and we ultimately received nearly perfect scores from them. Afterwards, their CEO emailed saying he’d be happy to endorse us however he could. That meant the world to us, especially because at the time, we hadn’t even fully optimized anything for AI search. They just… found us.

This session also proved something that Tom and I had always believed, namely that our experience is effective at the C-suite level. Whether you manage 5 people or 5,000, the behaviors show up the same, and seeing leaders from halfway across the world climb into our submarine, argue over clues, cheer each other on, and walk out laughing, that’s the part I’ll never get tired of.
