Difficulties of Entrepreneurship

One of the things I have been thinking about a lot lately is how difficult it is to explain what entrepreneurship feels like when you are inside of it.
From the outside, people tend to want a very simple answer. Either the business is doing well, or it is not. Either things succeed, or they fail.
But when you are actually living through it, the reality is far more complicated.
Right now, with Teamwork Unlocked, things are going well, but they are going well in the way that early-stage businesses go well. We are not closing million-dollar deals, and I am definitely not making my Google salary (yet?), but we are finding traction, and that is what is really important.
We are starting to see deals come in more regularly. Lark. GovTech. Visa. We had a verbal agreement with a major hotel brand, but the program was delayed, and a huge fashion brand is coming in right when I return from Japan. Conversations are happening across industries, and we are starting to see more inbound interest, with people coming to us with specific dates and ideas.
January and February were particularly encouraging because we were actually cash flow positive for both months, which is a milestone that is really something, especially when you are building a young company.
Out of curiosity, I even ran our numbers through Gemini and built a sort of chief-of-staff agent that I have been using to analyze some of our business data. After entering our financials and other details, it told me that we look like a top 5% startup in Singapore after our first year.
Now I have absolutely no idea if that is true. Gemini could easily be blowing smoke up my bottom.
But even if the exact number is questionable, the direction feels right.
We have monthly demo events, we have been meeting with new clients, and @Tom and I recently filmed a new video about the business that we will be releasing soon. Later this month, we will also be presenting the company at a showcase awards event, and we will see whether we walk away as a finalist or an award winner.
It’s all exciting, and it's all part of the journey. For a glimpse of what that journey looks like, learn more about Teamwork Unlocked here.
